Everything Apple Announced Today: iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone Duo, and Real UAE Prices

Apple's "Surprise and Shine" event just wrapped, and it delivered the biggest iPhone lineup change in years. Here's everything that was announced today, with real AED pricing pulled directly from apple.com/ae rather than pre-event estimates.

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max

The Pro line gets a smaller Dynamic Island, a 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, and a redesigned camera system with 4x/8x Fusion Telephoto. Both models run the new A20 Pro, Apple's first 2nm chip, with a direct vapor chamber connection for thermal management, "massive performance gains" over last year, and Apple's Reference Image system, which embeds metadata confirming a photo wasn't AI-generated. Battery life is described as the best ever on this line. Four colors: black, light blue (Glacier), silver, and Burgundy.

One detail that matters more than it looks: neither model has a physical SIM tray. Apple's own UAE product page confirms iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max activate via eSIM only, no exceptions for this market. That's a real change if you're used to swapping a physical SIM when traveling.

UAE pricing (apple.com/ae):

  • iPhone 18 Pro: AED 5,099 (256GB) / AED 5,949 (512GB) / AED 7,649 (1TB) / AED 10,199 (2TB)
  • iPhone 18 Pro Max: AED 5,499 (256GB) / AED 6,349 (512GB) / AED 8,049 (1TB) / AED 10,599 (2TB)

Pre-orders open September 12, phones arrive September 18.

iPhone Duo: Apple's first foldable

The rumors had it as "iPhone Ultra." Apple called it iPhone Duo. It's the largest iPhone display ever (7.6 inches unfolded, 50% larger than the Pro Max) and, folded, Apple's thinnest iPhone yet, with a 5.4-inch outer display. It's built from Grade 5 titanium with a hinge using ceramic-fiber inserts Apple says are three times stronger than the titanium frame itself. Ceramic Shield 2 covers both the front and back. The rear camera is a 48MP Dual Fusion system, and there's a Center Stage front camera built for video calls. A20 Pro chip, all-day battery, and a nano-texture display option for glare reduction. Two colors: Night Sky and Star White.

UAE pricing: From AED 8,499 (256GB) up to AED 13,599 (2TB). Apple's UAE trade-in program offers AED 160 to AED 3,260 credit toward it.

Unlike the Pro models, iPhone Duo doesn't ship September 18. Pre-orders open October 16, with availability from October 23, both dates confirmed on the UAE site, so this is a genuinely separate launch window, not just a global one pushed back for this region specifically.

Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4

Both get the new S11 chip and lean hard into a new health direction: a Health Age metric (shown live at the event as "-3.9 years"), a daily Readiness score, and a new Longevity app covering nutrition, fitness, sleep, and balance. Series 12 gets 24 hours of battery life; Ultra 4 stretches to 50 hours and, for the first time, offers a ceramic case option alongside titanium. Apple is calling this the most accurate heart rate sensing in a wearable yet, with continuous HRV tracking baked into the Vitals app.

UAE pricing: Apple Watch Series 12 from AED 1,599 (42mm Aluminum GPS), Titanium from AED 2,799, Ceramic from AED 3,799. Apple Watch Ultra 4 from AED 3,199.

Both are available from September 18.

AirPods 5

A new AirPods 5 lineup launched alongside the hardware, with up to 1.5x more Active Noise Cancellation than the outgoing AirPods 4 ANC model, Adaptive Audio, Transparency mode, and Personalized Spatial Audio. It's missing Lossless Audio and heart rate sensing, features reserved for the higher-end AirPods Pro line.

UAE pricing: AED 549 with the USB-C charging case, AED 629 with the wireless charging case.

The UAE read

Two things stand out for buyers here specifically. First, the SIM tray removal on the Pro line is now confirmed, not rumored, so check your carrier's eSIM setup with Etisalat or du before pre-order day if you haven't already made the switch. Second, the UAE is getting the standard lineup on the same September 18 date as launch markets, but iPhone Duo buyers have a full extra month to wait until October 23, worth knowing if you were planning to line up on day one for the foldable specifically.
